Fatalistic

Fatalistic means believing that there is nothing you can do to prevent things from happening. I was born and brought up in JAPAN, absolutely love this country. Yet I really hate politics of this country. No measure against raising gas price, worst health service for old persons, free fuel service for allied ships on the Indian Ocean. Nobody definitely feels good all of them. May Japan be stingier  country not be too generous. What they (politicians) are always thinking is how to impose tax and how to suck it up. They should owe resposibility seriously that have made this country being up to the ears in debt . I’m sure how fatalistic Japanese people are, especially about politics. This country desperately needs a healthy doze of civil disobedience!

NEXT

I just saw Nicolas Cage’s newest movie titled “NEXT”  last week. I thought it was really terrific action movie.  First of all, it was clean , no foul language, no blood and gore. I believe everybody would have no problem with their kids seeing it. Second I felt like it had a great plot and story- line. There is a magician who has supernatural power of prevision living in LasVegas.  He often earns some peanuts using his faculty. The FBI

(people call it ”Fed”  in this movie) finds out his capability and demand him to previse terrorism with nuke. I wouldn’t better telling you the ending. I’ll leave it to your imagination. People can’t enjoy good movies anymore. This is a good one, I sure recommend you.

mind-map.jpegI’ve been studying English for 10 years  from junior high to college.  I had left studying  English more than 20 years after graduation of college. One day, somehow, I decided to begin studying English again.  Probably, it was when I was 55  years old. I’ve studied at English school where native speaker teaches for a while. You know, they always said ” good English ! see you next week “. I wasn’t able to find out any progress there. Of course, I suppose it causes my less effort. Yet fortunately, I just bumped into a certain female Japanese English teacher who runs her own English school. She is so strict and tough about teaching English. I’m sure she made me a better English speaker.

English

It’s strange how American & British both speak the same language, yet have diffrent words for things. I’ve heard that the reason for having different words for the same things. Because, technology has been developed separately in each country during the industrial revolution.  New inventions were given different names each other, for example,in British English, street car is called a tram, an airplane is called an aeroplane and garbage is called rubbish(garbage is far from sort of invention indeed though). How come they know both words nowadays ? Well, I think  World War II brought Americans and British closer together ( this resulted in better  communication). Then there was Rock’n Roll in the ’50s and the Beatles.  They have American T.V shows in Britain and vice versa. Populer culture has brought the two nations closer together. That’s what I think.

Smoking

I’ve quit smoking cold turky more than 10 years ago. Got smorkers in your college or office ? A new study says everybody pays the price. Smokers take more sick days than nonsmokers. They have worse performance on the job or at college than nonsmokers. There are two studies in the journal “Tabacco Control” also found that smokers displayed a high rate of personality disorders and bad behavior than nonsmorkers. Participants included men and women between 16 and 65, I guess  across a lot of different jobs. Are these sort of segrigations?
